Beef Jerky

1 ½ -2lbs lean boneless meat (any kind)

½ cup soy sauce

1tbs worchestershire sauce

¼ tsp white or black pepper

¼ tsp garlic power

1tsp hickory smoked salt

Combine all the ingredients into a sandwich bag. Take the meat, and remove all fat from the edge, then cut it into 1/8 inch thick strips. Add the meat to the bag, and mix the marinade into the meat really well. Let stand for 6 hrs to overnight in the refrigerator. Dry in oven or dehydrator at lowest setting for 6-10 hours (or until dried all the way through). Once done cool and store in airtight bag.

A word from Lady Arawyn:

I like jerky with teriyaki favoring.  So I took ¼ cup of teriyaki and ¼ of soy sauce to the mixture.  It made a great teriyaki favor, but was a tad bit salty, so I suggest to cut the sodium by using liquid hickory smoke favoring instant of the salt kind.

I have also discovered that the jerky gets tastier the longer it sits in the frig. Yum!
